Innovation Week

UNeMed’s signature event of the year, Innovation Week is a series of events celebrating and encouraging innovation at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and the University of Nebraska at Omaha, culminating with an awards banquet.

Managing the week typically includes coordinating and planning events and activities; booking venues; managing and creating invitation lists and RSVPs; communicating with catering, AV and other vendors; and building a PowerPoint presentation for an event aimed at university innovators, leaders, deans, directors, chancellors, and their guests.
I also create all promotional materials (posters, news releases, event calendar entries and social media posts) and follow up with all necessary web content, event coverage and post-event surveys and reports.

Inventor’s Guide to Technology Transfer

Designed, developed, edited, and curate 88-page guide for University of Nebraska inventors. Skills used in creating this useful roadmap: Explanatory & technical writing, graphic design (Illustrator & InDesign), Photoshop, editing/coaching contributors, overseeing print production and digital curation.

Digital New Invention Notification

Created digital version of the University’s invention disclosure form, a complex legal document that requires complicated logic trees, flexibility & ease of use. Accepts signatures, integrates with Salesforce, and contributed to a new company record for number of disclosures in a year.

Annual Reports

Routinely produce annual reports, showcasing additional skills such as advanced analytics and database management to track and report company metrics and milestones, while building unique and relevant charts, graphs, callouts and infographics to articulate company highlights and mission updates.

Technology Portfolio

Living document that serves as compendium of technologies, discoveries and innovations under development & available for licensing at the University Nebraska Medical Center and the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

UNeMed.com

Overhauled in 2016 the UNeMed
website into a sleek and intuitive resource for all UNMC inventors. It was developed for the WordPress CMS, and continues as the template for UNeMed’s web presence.

MidWest Drug Development Conference

Promotional website for a national,
2-day meeting that attracted innovative
researchers from dozens of Midwestern Universities and hundreds of potential commercial and investor partners. The conference continued successfully for three years, but did not survive the disruption caused by the pandemic.

Communications Plan

Strategic and tactical communications plan that charts standard operating procedures for mainlining UNeMed’s presence and prestige within the university system, the immediate local area, region and nation at large.
