My career began in journalism as an award-winning sports reporter/editor at daily newspapers. Reporting carried through my graduate work and into successful ventures with hard news, including publishing deep investigative reporting project in The Washington Post (see below) that resulted in the FAA modernizing its fatigue guidelines for aviation crews. I published dozens of other hard news articles in national and regional media, including ABC News, NBC News, News 21 and the Nebraska Press Service. Listed here are primarily more recent articles, which are a selection of freelance projects for Omaha Publications: Omaha Magazine, B2B, and Omaha Home, among others.
